Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be in when Lawn & Weed Solutions calls?
-
The majority of our customers are not at home when we call to treat the lawn. Since all our vehicles and operatives carry all that they require, we can treat your lawn as long as we have access.
Do I have to sign a contract?
-
Absolutely not. We want our customers to continue with our service based on our success in creating a healthier greener lawn for them, we do not rely on a contract.
What about payment?
-
Payment is never in advance. Invoicing commences only after the treatment is completed on your lawn, you pay as you go.
How do we arrange future appointments with you?
-
We will call you 1-2 weeks before your next treatment is due.
Why not buy products from the garden centre?
-
The professional seasonal fertilisers we use are specific for lawns and grassed areas and will feed your lawn for 10 - 13 weeks. The average garden centre fertiliser will feed for 3-4 weeks. Our herbicides will also control a broader range of weeds for longer.
Are your products safe for children & animals?
-
Yes, all of the products we use are of a professional standard and are very effective, whilst at the same time safe for children and animals.
Can I use my lawn straight after a treatment?
-
It is safe to use immediately, however, after we have sprayed herbicide we suggest you stay off the lawn for a period of one hour so that it has a chance to dry and be absorbed by the weeds.
Should I mow my lawn before or after treatment?
-
Ideally mow your lawn prior to treatment, as fertilisers & herbicides are more effective on shorter grass. Do not mow for 48 hours after treatment to allow the products to take effect.
What about my gardener?
-
We do not cut grass and do not seek to replace your gardener or odd job man if you have one. We have access and know how to use products not generally available to gardeners, which will substantially improve the condition of your lawn and help it to stay healthy. Many gardeners do not have the relevant qualifications, experience or insurance and will just use products from garden centres and charge you for spreading them.
I don’t think my lawn can be saved should I still try the service?
-
Definitely, homeowners are constantly amazed to see what they thought was grass beyond saving transformed into a beautiful lawn.
When is the best time to start the service?
-
You can start our service any time of year, there is never a bad time to start treating and improving your lawn.
When will I notice the difference?
-
You will start to notice a considerable difference within a couple of weeks.
Why do you provide a free, no obligation survey?
-
We are in the business of treating lawns and forming relationships with our customers. We do not try to coerce you into having the treatment. However, when you discover the benefits and how reasonable the cost is, most customers choose to go ahead.
Why should I use the Lawn & Weed Solutions service?

-

Is your service cheaper than DIY?
-
Our treatment rates reflect the cost of the products used, travelling to your location and the labour involved. Try to calculate how much it really costs you to travel to and from the garden centre, purchase an inferior product (or even the wrong product), apply it yourself and still not achieve the end result that you are looking for, as it may not work as effectively as our treatment.
What about the competition?
-
Beware! Many other lawn treatment companies do not have the relevant experience or qualifications that we have.
-
Your lawn needs specific nutrients at certain times of the year, we use several different types of fertilisers and treatments according to the requirements of your lawn. Some companies use the same feed all year round, irrespective of the weather using high nitrogen.
-
Using fertiliser will green up your lawn and give the impression it is healthy. However too much nitrogen will create thin top growth and neglect the roots, resulting in long term problems.
